Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s theme was childhood favorites.

I really wanted to stay on topic this week—because what’s better than falling down a memory hole?—but my childhood was too long ago to properly remember and, while enjoyable, Googling “popular middle grade books from 1990s” did not really yield any results. 🤷 Instead, today I’m going to spotlight ten novels that I read in high school that I want to revisit as an adult!

Blue Is for Nightmares by Laurie Faria Stolarz
The Giver by Lois Lowry
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling
How to Sleep with a Movie Star by Kristin Harmel
Lip Lock by Susanna Carr

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty
The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
